Police Station on Jalan Dang Wangi

From Maytower Hotel & Serviced Residences, head north on Jalan Munshi Abdullah and it'll be hard to miss the bright blue and white buildings that symbolize the colours of the police force in Malaysia.

Coliseum Cinema

Before cineplexes became popular in shopping malls, it was cinemas like Coliseum that brought entertainment to KLites. The cinema is still showing movies today, aside from being an icon on Jalan Tuanku Abdul Rahman, a 2-minute walk from Maytower Hotel & Serviced Residences.

Jalan Melayu

The arch welcomes you to Jalan Melayu. Venturing in, you would find yourself in the Bazar, a marketplace selling cheap clothes, accessories, bags and assorted merchandise that make good souvenirs. The atmosphere here is a strong Malay-Muslim vibe.

Sessions & Magistrates Court (near Sultan Abdul Samad Building)

Before you reach the historic Merdeka Square where Malaysia's Independence took place on 31 August 1957, the first building you will encounter is the Sessions & Magistrate Court. It leads to the cluster of colonial buildings, including the iconic Sultan Abdul Samad Building. Having to cross the busy roads to get to Malaysia's most historical spots, and with the LRT running above you, experiencing past and present Malaysia is felt most obvious here!

Plaza City One

Just a minute's walk away from our hotel is a small shopping centre that houses Indian fashion boutiques and more. Find the most gorgeous saris and Punjabi suits as well as accessories here. Plaza City One also has a food court on the third floor with Muslim stalls serving halal Pakistani to Chinese dishes. The complex also houses Malay wedding outlets, hair salons, imported halal groceries and Indian sweet shops.

Henna Artists

Take a walk around the neighbourhood and you will find henna artists at street corners who can paint beautiful designs on your hands in just two minutes. Most henna artists only charge around RM5.00 for each hand, and they can also be hired to do bridal designs. A henna tattoo can last up to one month.

Malay Hawkers & Food Stalls

Explore the back lanes and alleys for cheap and delicious halal Malay food stalls. Some hawkers have been in business for over 20 years at the same location in Masjid India, selling snacks like curry puffs and local kuih-muih, and hearty meals that include dishes from fried squid to curry chicken that aren't too spicy for foreigners.

Damas Suites

One of Maytower Hotel & Residences' strategic partners, Damas Suites & Residences provides spacious accommodation for both short and long term stays in Sri Hartamas, one of Kuala Lumpur's exclusive enclave within 10 minutes drive of KL city centre.
